Some of us have personal bests in our sights. Others just want to finish. Most importantly, we’re all in it together. When you sign up to run any of the Festival’s races (5K, Half-Marathon, Full Marathon, Team Relay) with the Ed Fund, you not only get discounted registration (for the Half and Full) and a free team t-shirt, but the camaraderie of running with more than 300 teammates (250 of them students)!

For race details, including start times and course maps, click hereIf you haven’t run with us before, check out our Exposure story with photos, videos, and more from race day last year. And once you’ve registered, be sure to join our Facebook Running Team Group for occasional inspiration and commiseration!

Want to use (or build) your fundraising talents on behalf of Oakland kids in the run-up to the Festival? We’ll be releasing new fundraising tools soon!

“You cross that finish line,” said 11th-grader Samuel after the 2016 Oakland Running Festival Half Marathon, “and you feel like you can do anything.”

Help us create that thrill for Oakland kids! $45 covers the entry fee for one 5K runner. Click here to sponsor a student runner.

If your local business is interested in sponsoring a group of student runners, please email Special Events Coordinator Quierra Trammel ( We pride ourselves on fully covering all student runner entry fees, and you can help us do so again this year! Special thanks to the sponsors that have gone the distance for our team in past years.
