Oakland Walks 4 Schools
Oakland students and their teachers took over 67 million steps in October 2020 as part of the first Oakland Walks 4 Schools initiative.
More than 1300 people tracked their steps, covering an estimated 33,500 miles!
The schools that participated in #OaklandWalks serve a majority of students from low-income families and traditionally don’t have the ability to raise a lot of extra funding from PTAs.
That’s why the Oakland Public Education Fund was so excited to be able to donate nearly $110,000 to 15 Oakland public schools to recognize their amazing accomplishments.
Thank You
Big thanks to all of our students, staff, family members, and community partners for making Oakland Walks 4 Schools a huge success!
