Ana is passionate about educational equity, environmental sustainability, and art conservation. Prior to joining the Ed Fund, Ana worked at various elementary school sites for an expanded learning program in the East Bay for 12 years. In that role, Ana was both an After School Educator and Program Coordinator for enrichment programs.
Ana led academic, garden, art and cultural enrichment activities for K-5 students. Ana’s experience working with students, parents, and school admin gave her the background experience in youth development and family engagement. Ana is driven to continue to work in education, this time working to provide academic services and resources to students in Oakland.
Ana graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California with a BA in Art History. While an undergraduate, Ana worked full time as a Program Coordinator. Through this experience, Ana wanted to make a difference in students lives to provide resources for educational equity that could help students in the future from having to finish school the way she did. Ana loves being part of an organization that provides enriching educational experiences to children across Oakland.
Ana’s role at the Ed Fund as a Project Coordinator is supporting the Oakland School Volunteers program and project managing for #OaklandUndivided. Ana also previously worked on the COVID-19 Rapid Relief Cash Assistance project.In her free time, Ana loves hiking, reading, crafting, and singing in the car.
