Joshua Chan was born and raised in the Bay Area, living around the Peninsula for most of his life. He gained a passion for educational equity and social justice as a volunteer with educational nonprofits while studying for his undergraduate degree at San Francisco State University, graduating in 2020 with a B.A. in Journalism and a Minor in Political Science.
He came to the Ed Fund in August of 2021 as an AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer Outreach Associate from 826 Valencia, where he served an AmeriCorps term as a Programs Associate, tutoring students and working with volunteers. He hopes to use this experience to help nonprofits grow their capacity to serve their communities.
In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, listening to music, eating/cooking food, and reading about all three subjects. He welcomes any recommendations.
