The Ed Fund launched the inaugural Oakland Grown: Student Art & Music Festival last year. This family-friendly event raises critical funds for our schools while celebrating The Town’s talented students.
The sold-out festival featured student performances, visual arts displays, and activities for kids, culminating in a special hometown concert by Oakland native and internationally acclaimed R&B artist Goapele, along with musical artist and actor D Smoke.
Oakland Grown proceeds support Ed Fund programs that inspire, engage, and elevate learning for students across all Oakland public schools. Plus, every ticket includes full Oakland Museum admission for the day.
This year’s headliners are Oakland Rising, a collective of top emerging artists from Oakland. The trio performing at Oakland Grown includes three musicians ages 15-25: August Lee Stevens, B DeVeaux, and Naima Nascimento who recently made their Kennedy Center debut.
