Due to current budget constraints, the Oakland Public Education Fund will not be offering fingerprinting scholarships for the 2026–2027 school year. We understand this may be a barrier for some families, and we are actively exploring sustainable options for future support. In the meantime, we encourage you to ask your school sites if there are site-based or partner-funded support available.

We recognize and deeply respect the concerns that undocumented families may have when navigating volunteer clearance. In alignment with our commitment to student safety and family protection, we suggest that undocumented parents and guardians become Supervised Volunteers. This clearance level does not require fingerprinting and still allows you to meaningfully participate in school events such as Read-in weeks, classroom support, and/or campus celebrations.
